Abandon all hope ye who enter here...

The House ov Discord... The House of Discord... Discordians living together and having way too much fun as it might seem to us mere mortals. But every once in a while they open their doors and throw a party.

Maybe you've heard the stories of past parties. The tall tales of wild debauchery and Cthulhu beasts coming through walls. Though in all honesty I think it was just a sledgehammer and pigs blood. Maybe you've seen the video or pictures still floating around on the internets. Possibly you enjoy watching people shower in their front yard while drunken pirates hurl pumpkins into a park with a Trebuchet. Could be you enjoy drink concoctions where you can't be certain if the smoke coming off of it is from the dry ice or the combination of liquids. Perhaps you fancy thought provoking intellectual conversations over an insane man's choice of music.

That insane man of course would be me. I've DJed almost every single party that has happened at the HoD. I love to do these parties because of the freedom I have at them and what I can get away with playing. Of course the opening set will be tame, a mood builder if you will, as people begin to arrive. Then as more people show up the music will change to suit the situation. And music wise there is no telling what you'll hear. This isn't a "Theme/Genre/One Trick Pony" Music kind of Party, this is a house party of the most insane. People of all types will be there wanting to hear all types of music and as they arrive they will get it. Ok.. That was a weird kind of rambling... Ignore the man behind the curtain!!!

There will probably be an 80's set at some point or another and as always requests are more than welcome (Early ones through messages or email even more so) and the point of this is to have fun, to have a good time.

There hasn't been an epic house party in some time and I hope to see many if not all of you there at some point during the night. It starts at 9 and goes until whenever, some have lasted well into sun up. And I will be there playing music until it's done. And yes, I will be playing my traditional HoD ending set. Ask around, certain people in the know can tell you what I'm talking about...

 

The Mind is Willing the Flesh is Weak... - 2:17:07

So last night I was going to go to a show at the Continental Club. I really should have been there, Billie told me it would be a wonderful chance to meet people and get to know the music I've spinning on Mondays. So I got home from work at six and took a bath and sat down on the couch. The plan was to chill and watch Countdown with Kieth Olbermann and then get a bite to eat at the Pho place by my house. By then it would be nine and I'd head over to the Continental, Billie said she'd be there by ten and then I'd hang there and catch the shows. Then I'd head to the office and post the board agendas for the Brays Oaks Management District. I'd go get me something to eat and then go home and sleep until I woke up or the cats woke me up.

That was the plan... What happened instead?

Well, I started watching Countdown and that's the last thing I remember. Next thing I know MSNBC is doing a Headliners & Legends on Cameron Diaz and it's fiver thirty in the morning. Shit. The entire night gone, a good chance to meet people and get a better understanding of the music I've been spinning gone.

But all is not lost... Things happen for a reason.

It was five thirty and I was awake with the entire day ahead of me, and what a beautiful day it was. I got a lot done: Got coffee, hit the office and took care of some work, hit Half Price and then some hit the Pho place for grilled pork and fried eggs. Then off to home to work on samples on the laptop while a fire burned in the fireplace.

So now the time is seven... The evil one is back.

She got back just a few minutes ago from San Antonio and she brought me BBQ and my car. The BBQ was good but she ran off with the car because her and her friend wanted to see what was burning in our neighborhood. But soon I'll have my car and then it'll be off to my D&D game.

Into the Great Wide Open... It's getting better and better.

Found something out on Thursday, I'll be able to post about it soon. I know for certain now that I did the right thing. Mondays have been amazing and fun and they just keep getting better and better. And it looks like I'll be DJing an HoD party on the 24th. You ever been to an HoD party? More on that later...
